A shaky start at home

A+shaky+start+at+home
Boys’ basketball lost in their first home game Friday night to the Warren Blue Devils, 33-47.

While the final score might suggest a blow-out, the game was anything but. The Bears were unable to control the lead throughout the game, but the point margin was kept to a much safer score until late in the 4th.

Despite a solid first half, the now 3-3 Bears were unable to respond to the Blue Devils’ fast offense, which put them behind late in the game. The team was able to respond, but only to stop the bleeding to a 14-point loss.

Key offensive performances of the night were had by junior Brad Krause, who scored 10 points for himself, as well as sophomores Mike Travlos and Will McClaughry, who contributed 7 and 4 points respectively.

Defensive standouts included seniors Ryan Roach and John Repplinger, whose speed was crucial to defending Warren’s wicked speed.

Overall, the team held up well against a top program like Warren. Warren’s girls’ team also beat the LZHS girls 23-41 last Thursday.

The boys will hit the road to take on Mundelein this Tuesday at 7pm.
