The child development classes hosted a graduation for their “little bears,” preschoolers ages 3-5 on May 17 and 18.

The ceremony included as showcase of songs, superlative awards for each student, a distribution of diplomas, a year in review slideshow, and speeches from child development students.

Sydney Shadrick, senior, and Katelyn Menas, senior, both spoke at the event about the lessons they learned while teaching the preschoolers.

“Some of the kids came in speaking only Spanish,” Menas said.  “[Because of this class,] I realized I wanted to work with those kids.”
