Above 4, the first-place winners of Battle of The Bands, will be performing in the PAC on February 26 at 7pm.

“We are really excited. We have practiced about once a week since Battle of The Bands,” Chloe Fletcher, sophomore and bassist in Above 4, said.

Above 4 won the opportunity to have this concert when they beat several bands in the December Battle of the Bands competition. Second place winner, Cooking with Beyond Gravity, will open the concert.

“The first band, Cooking with Beyond Gravity, is going to be half an hour in the opening act. Then we will be performing 13 songs, including medleys of two-three songs,” Francesca Castro, junior guitar player, said.

Above 4 usually gets a good crowd interaction because they play songs popular songs that the audience would know, said the guitarist.

“There will be a variety of songs: from Drake to Led Zeppelin. We’re also doing  two originals written by Francesca,” Jayme Polites, junior pianist and vocalist, said.

The band continuously works to improve their music. When writing their own music, it can be a longer process that takes up more time.

“Francesca writes the chords and lyrics. [The band helps] edit it, change the style, and bring it to life,” Polites said.

The band likes to experiment with music and its different styles. On the day of the show, Above 4 will have special guests, such as Zack Keller and Mara Nasui, seniors. They will be covering some of the music from Rent, a famous broadway musical. The girl band expects to have their audience members dancing and singing along to the music.

“We definitely want people to come to our gig,” Fletcher said. “[The audience can] join us in having a fun night with awesome music.”

To see the concert, there will be small fee of $5 at the door of the Performing Art Center.
