Nicki Minaj, the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap, released her new single “Pills N Potions” last Wednesday, May 21 on iTunes.  This is the first single from her upcoming album The Pink Print.

            “Pills N Potions” is a song far from what Nicki Minaj is known for, and entrances the ‘Barbz’ (the title she gives to her fans) with the truthful lyrics and incredible sound. The song reminds listeners of their past experiences. It connects to memories of the people that, no matter how much anger one might have, they still love that person. It is a loving rap meets ballad song that will excite first-time listeners. No matter how many times played, the love for the song will not fade.

To get fans excited for the release, Minaj started posting teases of the song such, as the cover art and countdowns to the date it was available to download. To show love and support, the ‘Barbz’ tweeted to Minaj expressing their excitement for the new single. Many used #PillsNPotions and #ThePinkPrint, which became trending topics on Twitter.

For non-Barbz, the news of the song is nothing to jump up for joy about, but the new sound and the new Minaj era that is on the horizon will turn anyone into a Barb.

“Pills N Potions” is available for download in 70 different countries. The song is currently #1 in 9 countries and #3 on the U.S. iTunes Hot Songs chart.
