Drama Club Coffee House: two thumbs up for charity

The annual Drama Club Coffee House gave an outstanding performance for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, raising $1,064 in one night.

The event took place on the PAC stage last Thursday, December 1. Drama Club members set up a smaller stage on the large PAC stage for the acts to perform on, decorated with Christmas and other stage lights.

The Coffee House featured acts from all areas of the Fine Arts Department, as well as a few from outside the Department. A few of the most memorable acts included junior Monika Wicklund’s performance of “Teenage Dream,” by Katy Perry, the comedic stylings of juniors Shannon Flaherty  and Bailey Howell, and the night’s headline band: Short Notice, which is made up of freshmen Matt Wang and Paul Kerchberger, sophomores Brenden Murphey and Julian Mauleon, and junior Matt Meyle.

Those attending the Coffee House brought blankets and pillows and sat on the stage surrounding the smaller performance stage. Cookies, cupcakes, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were all sold by Drama Club members for $1 each on tables in the back.
