New up and coming unique star releases her first EP

Starting from making six second singing vines to releasing her first EP The Intro, Ruth B is a candy sweet, up and coming singer ready to hit the world by storm.

The singer/songwriter downloaded vine without any intentions of creating singing vines, according to Digital Journal. She is mostly known for her song “Lost Boy”, which is a well structured, storytelling song that was featured in the 2015 remake of Peter Pan. This song began as a six second snip and when Ruth B.’s fans wanted more, she gave them what they were asking for. Within 20 minutes, the well written song “Lost boy” was born.

In all four songs from Ruth B.’s EP, the only thing accompanying her vocals is her playing the piano. She may not be the next Beethoven, with her slightly repetitive melody, but calmness from the piano leaves listeners with a peaceful mindset.

Love songs are a theme heard throughout her music. Two out of Ruth B.’s four songs pertain to love stories, while the third tells listeners to love and appreciate themselves and the fourth is about being a child and escaping realities evils. Unlike many artits today, Ruth B. finds a way to make each song unique and mostly avoids being repetitive.

The love songs aren’t the classic fairy tale “happily ever after,” however. “Superficial Love” talks about not messing around with love that isn’t going anywhere or isn’t real. Ruth B says that real love should be based on money or power, just like what the song “2 Poor Kids” talks about.

“Golden” tells listeners she’s gold and that she is strong no matter what people tell her. Then finally, the first song to be written for her album, “Lost Boy”; the character talked about in the song wants to live in Neverland from the movie Peter Pan, so she can stay young and escape reality. These song themes aren’t ones that have been done before a millions times, which gives Ruth B.’s music a unique sound.

Ruth B.’s EP songs are all only accompanied by her playing piano, which isn’t unique in itself, but she doesn’t let listeners become bored. Tied with the soft piano playing, her powerful pop lyrics move listeners into believing in the love she talks. This is not something easily achieved but Ruth B. surly makes it look that way. Being able to only create piano accompanied songs and still give then a pop song feel shows Ruth B.’s potential to become a very popular and successful artist.

“Ruth B deserves to become the next big female mega-star in music,” Markos Papados, writer for digital journal, wrote. “Her expressive vocals are warm and captivating, and she has a sound that is distinct. She sings from the heart, and her songs have relatable messages. Ruth B’s storytelling ability is second to none. This EP garners an A rating, and it is a harbinger for bigger and better things to come.”
