Girls Track

The girls’ track team had a huge week with school records, dual wins, and an invitational victory highlighting the week.

The week started with big dual victories over Lake Forest and Libertyville on Tuesday. Kelsey Rothas, junior, was able to tie the school pole vault record of 12 feet in the process.

The week continued on Thursday with the Lake County Invite as the team was able to clinch a massive victory out of the 18 teams. Notable results from the invite include victories in pole vault by Rothas, a second place finish in long jump by Izzy Klett, junior, a second place finish in the 4×400 relay, and a school record 4×800 relay by Hayley Burk, sophomore, Jillian Baffa, senior, Emily Burns, senior, and Kristin Loftus, freshman.

The team will now get set to end their regular season with a dual at Mundelein and repeat their Conference championship with the NSC Championships on Thursday.

Baseball

Another above .500 week for the baseball team puts them in a prime position to get set for a strong postseason run in a few weeks.

The week started out with a tough 7-3 loss to Libertyville on Monday but bounced back the next day with a big 3-0 shutout over the Wildcats on Tuesday. The week then concluded as the bats came alive in a big 11-6 victory over Highland Park on Friday.

This coming week will be kicked off by a two-game series against Warren and will finish with a doubleheader at home versus Prospect on Saturday.

Softball

Even with a game cancellation, the bats of the softball team stayed hot as they put up a large number in their only full game of the week.

That game ended in a huge 22-6 victory over Zion-Benton as players like Julia Zaucha, senior, shined at the plate.

The team, now 10-9, will take on Stevenson, Lake Forest, and Grayslake North in a big week for the team heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

Boys Tennis

The boys’ tennis team had a busy week, playing three matches in four days against Libertyville, Cary-Grove, and Mundelein.

The week started out with a tough loss to Libertyville, but the team bounced back to defeat Cary-Grove. The week ended with a tough loss to Mundelein.

“A majority of the team last year were seniors and there are a lot of new players on varsity,” Trevor Tognetti, sophomore, said. “The team has done a lot better than expected this year.”

The team will now prepare to get ready for the Crystal Lake Central Invitational on Saturday.

Boys Track

The boys’ track team also had a big week as they competed in duals against Libertyville and Lake Forest, as well as competing in the Glenbrook North Relays

The week started in the duals where some unusual results occurred, as the Bears fell to Lake Forest and defeated Libertyville in the duals, but won the entire meet against both teams.

The Glenbrook North relays brought a third-place finish for the team as Tyler Remez, junior, won the triple jump, the team won the throwers relay, and the team won the 4×120 yard shuttle hurdles.

This upcoming week includes a dual at Mundelein, and their own Lake County Invite at Grayslake Central.

Boys Volleyball

After coming off of a big weekend that included a tournament runner-up finish, the volleyball team went 1-1 in two tight games.

The week started off against Glenbrook North with a first set victory but eventually came down to two tight losses in the second and third sets. Game two featured a tight game against Libertyville where two strong sets finished off the Wildcats en route to a 2-1 victory.

The team will now get set for a match against Warren and a tournament at Glenbrook North.

Girls Soccer

The girls’ soccer team continued their season last week with a couple of games against school rivals.

Game one featured a tough 1-0 loss to Stevenson on Tuesday on the road, but the team was able to finish out the week strong with a nice 3-2 victory over Libertyville.

The team will now get set to start the final stretch of their season as they will prepare to face Warren and Mundelein.

Boys Lacrosse

The boys’ lacrosse team took a tough week with their two games ending in losses at home in close games.

Their first game resulted in a tough 8-4 loss to Lake Forest on Wednesday and their second loss came at the hands of South Elgin on Friday, 10-8.

The team will now get set for their own week of games as they face Barrington on Monday and Libertyville on Wednesday

Girls Lacrosse

The girls’ lacrosse team had an exciting week as they played in some interesting games to go 1-1 for the week.

The week started with a tough 14-12 loss to Lake Forest on the road on Wednesday. The week ended by defeating Marquette High School from Missouri on Saturday.

The team will now get set for their tough week ahead which includes games against Barrington, Libertyville, and Warren.
