All choirs have been preparing since September for their most challenging concert so far this year, coming up on December 9 at 7:30 in the PAC.

In previous years, there were two separate concerts for all choir groups to perform in at different times on a Friday night.  This will be the first year that all students will perform in a single concert on Wednesday in order to bring the choirs together, according to Nick Juknelis, choir director.

Although the music for their October concert was easier, Juknelis wants to incorporate some harder pieces.

“While we’re working on the easier music for the first concert [in October], we start to mix in some of these harder holiday pieces, too,” Juknelis said.

While these challenging pieces are not easy, students like Matt Mauleon, Bare Voices sophomore, are still excited to perform a variety of holiday songs after months of hard work.

“I think the song ‘The First Noel’ is [my favorite],” Mauleon said. “It’s such a powerful and grand piece with lots of instrumentals.”
