“Hallelujah” takes us to church: Panic! releases a new song

“The time for being sad is over.” Panic! At The Disco has finally released a new song. After the announcement of the departure of their drummer on April 2, the band is back at it, releasing a new song nearly two years after releasing their last album.

Brendon Urie, frontman for Panic! released the song “Hallelujah” on April 20 on the band’s official website, surprising fans everywhere.

The song, which resembles Fall Out Boy’s signature sound, really embraces their pop run genre. The strong drum and guitar beats make it hard not to jam out and have a good time.

The lyrics not only enhance the song but make it impossible to not continuously replay. The lyrics push the message that you should own up to your mistakes. Urie also reminds fans that keeping every bad thing to yourself and living life upset makes you undesirable.

With lyrics like “No one wants you when you have no heart and/ I’m sitting pretty in my brand new scars and/ You’ll never know if you don’t ever try again,” Urie is reminding his fans that it’s better to be sad, fail, and try again then to turn into a zombie with no emotions.

Urie’s vocals further excel the song, reminding fans how amazing of a singer he really is. His vocal range closely resembles Patrick Stump’s, lead singer of Fall Out Boy, further demonstrating the similarity between Panic! and Fall Out Boy.

“Just when we think we’ve heard everything that we could from vocalist Brendon Urie, he surprises listeners with yet another style of vocals. The song provides a far more soulful sound than Panic! fans are accustomed to,” wrote Alex Rahmanparast, editor-in-chief for mindequalsblown.net.

Overall, the song is an eye-opener to fans. It reminds them what the band is really about, and how much more they have to offer.
