The Cross Country team participates in annual “Heaven Week” in preparation for the 2014 season.

This week includes various running activities that are higher intensity than their regular practices. The coaches also include more fun activities for the runners to enjoy.

“It’s similar to football’s ‘Hell Week,’ but we considerate it a privilege, not a punishment,” J.B. Hanson, men’s cross country head coach, said.

Today’s activity was the Lake Zurich Scavenger Hunt, in which the runners have a list, and they must run around Lake Zurich to find the items. Tomorrow, the runners will participate in the “Guess Your Time Run.”

As a part of Heaven Week, this Saturday, August 23, 2014, cross country will host a car wash. This is their main fundraiser to suport the team’s annual trip to Peoria for a meet in September. The car wash will be located in the bus lanes outside the PAC.
