Awolnation drops new single

AwolNation album cover.jpg-largeAwolnation, an electronic rock indie band composed of four members, recently released a brand new single. The song is off their second studio album, RUN, which is expected to be released sometime late March. “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” has a distinctly relaxed, indie vibe and is a great choice for their first single.

The first single to be released off their upcoming album. titled “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” was released along with its music video on January 26.  The video has over 100,000 views as of January 28.

The single sounds similar to “Sidekick,” a song by the American pop and indie group Walk the Moon off their new album released on December 2. However, “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” is not as upbeat and vibrant as the Walk the Moon track.

“I’m very proud that the team had the courage to go with [“Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)”] because I think everyone was expecting us to follow up our breakthrough with something more radio-friendly or obvious and this is more brutal-sounding than most stuff that’s on the radio. I’m excited to see how it stirs things up,” said Aaron Bruno, lead singer of Awolnation, in a January 27 interview on redbull.com.

Awolnation is most well known for their hit 2011 album “Megalithic Symphony” and features lead vocalist Aaron Bruno; drummer Isaac Carpenter; Drew Stewart, who plays lead guitar and is a backing vocalist; and Kenny Carkeet who plays keyboard, rhythm guitar, and is a backing vocalist.
