P!nk tells the truth about love in her new album

P!nk’s recently released album, The Truth About Love, sticks to her  punk pop roots while still being fresh and fun for listeners.

The album has a solid array of songs for every type of P!nk fan, from those who favor her anthemic “So What” type songs, to the fans of the mournful, “Glitter in the Air”.

P!nk starts off strong with the powerful, Are We All We Are” which instantly catches the ear of listeners and keeps them interested all the way through with thought-provoking lyrics.

“Are We All We Are” asks listeners if they have fulfilled their potential or if there are things they could do to better themselves or the world. P!nk maintains her rebel personality while challenging listeners on a deeper level.

Keeping the momentum, the hit singles on the album, “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, and “Try”, show off the strength of P!nk’s belting voice.

P!nk criticizes societies’ view of love in the sarcastic tunes, “True Love (featuring Lily Allen)” and “How Come You’re Not Here”. While the songs both remain upbeat and peppy, they question the legitimacy of true love and faithfulness in today’s world.

Much like her hit ballad, “Glitter in the Air”, off the album Funhouse, P!nk has “Beam me up” “Chaos and P**s” and “The Great Escape” that slow down and balance the upbeat tempo of most of the songs off the album. P!nk takes care to provide songs that showcase her talent in many different types of songs in The Truth About Love.

Listeners will also love to hear her made-for-radio hits, “Walk of Shame” “S*** Like You” and “Here Comes the Weekend (Featuring Eminem)”. P!nk defies the audiences’ expectations of controversial lyrics with these three songs, instead opting to throw in some lighter lyrics paired with beats made for dancing, while still keeping things fresh and almost mocking both society’s view of women and women’s views of themselves by using lyrics that play into the stereotype in a sarcastic way.

For instance in “Walk of ShameP!nk generalizes an experience that many modern women have had and asks women to admit to their apparent misdeeds.

“Please God don’t let anybody see me, please God I’ll do anything you ask of me, I promise no more walks of shame,” the lyrics read.

P!nk presents the issue as a double standard that men are encouraged to behave in this way, whereas women should be mortified to find themselves in the same situation.

P!nk utilizes both peoples’ expectations for controversy and her own punk roots to create an album that has many different varieties of songs, for every listener.

P!nk once again brings original and catchy lyrics to her music and has created yet another hit album that will keep listeners entertained until her next album.
