Many new freshmen made their first visit to LZHS on Thursday as part of 2011 Freshmen Orientation. After an initial presentation from Ryan Rubenstein, assistant principal, the freshmen met with the counselors and the deans, took a tour of the school, listened to a cyberbullying presentation, played games in small group sessions, and practiced walking their schedules.
“I think it turned out to be a successful orientation,” Lissa Mandell, senior and student organizer of the event, said.
Student volunteers from the National Honor Society, P.E. Leaders, and Peer Leaders were on hand to answer questions and lead the small group sessions. The volunteers met the night before to go over the schedule and practice some of the games.
