Girls’ football starts preparing for Homecoming week

With Homecoming coming in two weeks, the girls’ football teams have already started prepping for the games.

After the brief meeting on September 3, the teams found out the practices will be on September 9, 10, and 15. In order to play in the game, a player must attend at least two practices, Chris Bennett, student council sponsor, said during the girls’ football informational meeting.

During the practices and the game, coaches chosen by the student council sponsors help the teams by teaching the girls how to play and create plays.

“I think it’s a great idea that the coaches are football players because they get to play the other role that they don’t get to experience at the games,” Dani Ufheil, senior, said.

The games will be on Wednesday, September 17, at 7pm for the juniors and at 8pm for the seniors.

“I would like to be in a position where I can just run with the ball, maybe a running back, because it seems to be one of my strengths,” Ufheil said. “I am looking forward to the game because I couldn’t do it last year due to cross country. So many people talked about the games after they happened last year and it sounded like they all had a great time.”
