New student section leader selected

Noah McGarr, junior has been selected to be the new student section leader for the 2015-2016 school year. McGarr was selected by Drew Kowalski, 2015 graduate, because of his spirit during the 2014-2015 school year.

As McGarr prepares for the coming school year, he says his goal is bringing students together.

“[I am looking forward to] bringing together a student body of such diverse personalities into a whole group [and] supporting our fellow students in all activities,” McGarr said. “I love being able to lead in any circumstance and to have this opportunity is more than I could ever ask for.”

McGarr says he wants to continue the ways students show their school pride in the stands, but hopes to change the way other schools see LZHS fans at games.

“There isn’t a lot I’d like to keep the same. I’d much rather take this student body and revolutionize the student section and the way opposing schools look at us,”McGarr said. “The only thing I want to keep the same is the atmosphere created when we all come together to support the Bears on game day in any sport.”

With the new football stadium set to open next fall, McGarr feels it’s a prime opportunity to change student section.

“With the new stands, it opens up a lot more doors for us to be bigger and better than ever before. This being said, I’m spoiling traditions and making it so all years can dress on dress up days, McGarr said. “Sorry upper-classmen, but this year I want the whole school dressing up and the whole school in the stands.”
