Teen Read Week includes raffle of six autographed books

Six books signed by their authors will be raffled off during the Young Adult Library Services Association’s Teen Read Week and the proceeds will be given to Charity Bash’s 2014 charity.

Teen Read Week takes place October 12-18. The signed books being raffled off are The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey, Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake, City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, If You’re Reading This by Trent Reedy, Into the Nerd Yonder by Julie Halpern, and The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau. Both staff members and students can enter the raffle, and the proceeds from the raffle will go to St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a foundation for childhood cancer.

“We’re raffling off the books, and you can enter as many times you want, and its for students and staff, and its going through the end of Teen Read Week, and we will pick winners next monday,” Amy Pine, library media specialist, said.

Each raffle ticket costs a quarter for each entry, or one dollar for six entries. The six entries can be used all on one book or one entry for each of the six books.

“We’re raffling off the books, and you can enter as many times you want, and its for students and staff, and its going through the end of Teen Read Week, and we will pick winners next Monday,” Pine said.

Despite being allowed unlimited entries, each student or staff member can only win one book.

“Once you win a book, that’s it. So if you enter for all six books and we pull your name, that’s book you get,” Pine said.

The winners will be drawn Monday, October 20 and will be notified via e-mail or English teacher.
