Trends from the past

When Isabella Pombo, freshman, walks the hallways, she might as well be walking a fashion show runway.  The aspiring model knows that fashion from the past, present, and future has been influenced by how people feel and what looks good on them.

But fashion is also about the celebrity of it.

“Runways and Kylie Jenner.  People walking down the catwalk showing off everything they have with lights flashing and the the crowd roaring.  That rush of adrenaline when you walk out and the focus is on you,” is what Pombo says she thinks of when discussing fashion.

According to Pombo, people wear what they see celebrities wearing, and that is the way it has always been.  However, Marie Baker, Family and Consumer Science teacher, thinks of people who know how to dress when she hears the word fashion.  She thinks finding a happy medium between clothes that are too conservative and too revealing is what people try to keep in mind when they are figuring out what to wear.

“I think the most fashionable people are the ones who know what looks good on them and makes them feel good,” Baker said.

Some of the trends that are coming back are neon colors, distressed jeans, converse, and peace signs according to luckyshops.com.  Because of fashion being in one big cycle, older trends are making a comeback and will have an influence on future trends.
