New singles topping the charts

Music fans always get excited when new music comes out. Beyonce, Selena Gomez, and Jennifer Lawrence are just a few of the artists who recently released new music.

Beyonce’s song “7/11” which came out last week, is the typical Bey. Although she doesn’t sing much in the song, the attitude of the song would make anyone want to get up and dance. The rapping, and crazy beat make this the perfect club song.

In the video for the song, Beyonce is having party and having a good time in a hotel room. She is jumping, and dancing around, expressing the feel of the song. “7/11” is currently number six on the iTunes singles chart.

Selena Gomez’s performance of her new single “Heart Wants What It Wants’ at the American Music Awards pushed her single up the charts. The unexpected release of the song and music video showcases Gomez’s desire to show the world that she is not a Disney kid anymore.

The slow and meaningful song is about loving someone that you know you shouldn’t. Gomez’s vocals have improved immensely since her Disney days, as well as her ability to express her feelings through song. Her album, For You,  is currently number eight on the iTunes charts.

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is known for her acting, especially playing Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movie trilogy. In the third of the four movies, Mockingjay Part 1, Lawrence sings a song called “Hanging Tree” to unit all the districts of Panem.

The acoustic song was released along with the soundtrack for the movie, which is currently number 9 on the iTunes chart.

Lawrence starts out the song singing acapella, with a violin joining her. By the end of the song, a chorus of people are singing the lyrics in unison, signifying that all the districts of Panem are ready to fight.
These songs, although all different, can appeal to anyone who is a music fan. Beyonce continues to live up to her name, Selena Gomez grows up, and Jennifer Lawrence shows off her singing ability.
